Introducing Trakible. My first product.
I’m finally ready to show off what I’ve been working on and off for the last couple of years - Trakible. I use it to track my weight, and built it because I was using Google Sheets for this for a while, but it always felt incomplete and I wasn’t sure all the formula were right. I wanted something simpler.
While I built it primarily for my own use case, I made it available for everyone to use as well. There’s a free tier to try. This is my first piece of software where I hope others will find some value in it. I can’t be the only data nerd out there!
I also chose to make this as a web app since I believe in the web™ as the best open platform we currently have.
Main Features
There are a few types of data you can choose to track:
- Intrinsic data like weight or height. This is something that doesn’t (hopefully) change quickly day-to-day.
- Extrinsic data like number of books read, or miles ran. These are things that can change drastically each day.
- Yes/no data like “Did I have a good day today?”.

Each type of record has different graphs and statistics that make sense for each.
One thing I decided on early was having easy import and export. Your data is your data; I won’t build something that hoards your data and not you get it back easily. That would be super disrespectful.
You can also set goals such as: getting under or above a certain value, getting within a range of values, getting a total amount, or getting X number of “Yes” days in a row.

The last big thing is the ability to write down your thoughts in a journal alongside each record. You can look back over time to help remember what was going on at the time (especially if you’ve got a memory like mine that needs some help).

What’s Next?
I use Trakible to record multiple things in my own life, so I’ll be adjusting it and fixing issue and keeping it going for a long time. There’s a few things I have in mind to add next:
- a daily motivations section
- a journal view to easily see all your journal entries
- maybe a general journal not tied to a specific record
- dark mode and other color themes, customizable graph colors
It’s my hope that as this grows I can hear how people use it and what changes they’d like to see, so it can grow better organically.
If you made it this far and would like to try it out, try the free trial, or a with a generous discount ALPHA90. Happy tracking.
